Boat Upholstery, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire

Restoring a vintage gem? Giving a weekend cruiser some love? Turning your liveaboard into a floating sanctuary? Consider it done with craftsmanship that’s as watertight as it is wonderful! From my workshop by the River Severn, I create bespoke boat upholstery that blends quality, comfort, and a made-to-measure fit for any type of vessel, using sustainable materials wherever possible. Every project is custom-made, with an eye for detail and a focus on durability.

From cabin cushions that stay put (even when the water is a bit lively) to deck seating that can handle the elements and the occasional spilt drink. I work with top-quality, marine-grade fabrics that are built to withstand life on the water, whether that’s salt spray, sun, or soggy dogs.

But it’s not just about practicality. Your boat’s interior should reflect your style too, whether you love classic, understated designs or prefer something bright, bold, and a bit different. With a range of sustainable fabrics and finishes, every piece I create is made to measure and tailored to suit your taste. From helm seats and V-berth cushions to full cabin refits, no job is too big or too small.

And as a fellow boat owner who also calls the water home, I get how important it is for your space to feel right. So, if your boat’s interior is looking a bit tired or if you just fancy a change, let’s have a chat about your ideas. I’ll help you bring them to life with bespoke upholstery that’s both stylish and seaworthy.

Drop me a message, and let’s make your boat’s interior every bit as impressive as the view from the deck!

Common Concerns

I am worried that upholstery won’t withstand frequent use

I only use durable, marine-grade materials that are specifically designed to withstand daily wear and tear, even in high-traffic areas. These fabrics are not only tough but also easy to maintain, so you can enjoy your boat without stressing about your upholstery holding up. I can also help you choose the best options for your needs to ensure long-lasting results.

I fear that keeping my boat upholstery clean might be difficult.

I’ll provide full cleaning and care instructions based on the fabric you choose. That way, keeping your boat upholstery looking fresh and clean will be simple and stress-free

The cushions will get wet and I am concerned this might spoil them quickly.

I use water-resistant and waterproof fabrics to help protect against moisture and splashes and where appropriate use a draining cloth on the underside of the cushions to ensure any water ingress can drain away, avoiding mold and mildew growth

I don’t want my cushions sliding about.

I can add non-slip bases, ties, or Velcro to keep cushions securely in position.

I’m concerned that my  upholstery might fade in the sun.

I offer UV-resistant fabrics and threads that help prevent fading from sun exposure (when the sun shines!)

I’m concerned that mildew or mould could develop on my cushions

I use high-quality, marine-grade fabrics and foam that are designed to resist moisture and prevent mould growth. I also recommend care tips and treatments to keep your cushions fresh and dry.

How to work with me

Let's get the ball rolling

Start by filling out the contact form on my website with a few details about your project, what you need, the state of your current upholstery, and any ideas you’ve got in mind. Photos are always helpful, so feel free to share a few snaps of your boat’s interior (don’t worry, no judgment if things are looking a bit tired). The more info you give me, the easier it’ll be to get started!

The numbers bit

Based on what you’ve shared, I’ll put together an initial estimate for the work involved. This will cover the basics like material costs and how much time it’ll take so you’ll have a clear idea of what to expect. No hidden surprises, just an honest overview of what’s needed to bring your vision to life.

Nailing the details

If you’re happy with the estimate, we’ll book in a design consultation to refine fabric choices, colours, and all the little details that’ll make your upholstery unique. This consultation costs £50, which will be deducted from your final invoice if you decide to go ahead. We’ll chat through samples, styles, and practicalities making sure everything’s just right before the real work begins.

Hi, I'm Becca Robins

I’m an upholsterer, sustainability advocate, and unapologetic vintage lover on a mission to give well-loved pieces a new lease on life. From 1960s armchairs to WWII boat interiors, I approach each project with equal parts craftsmanship and passion  listening to each piece’s story while helping write its next chapter. My work blends traditional skills with eco-conscious choices, because beautiful furniture shouldn’t cost the earth.

You’ll often find me in the studio with my furry co-worker Nigel (when he’s not snoozing on the job). Together, we champion sustainability in every detail from sourcing planet-friendly fabrics to repurposing every scrap. It’s not just upholstery to me; it’s about preserving history, rejecting throwaway culture, and creating pieces that will be cherished for years to come.
